Why we Invested in Crunchr

At Finch Capital, we invest where structural change meets real, unresolved customer pain. We look for the moments when an industry is clearly shifting, but the tools and systems haven't caught up yet.
That's exactly what we saw with Crunchr.
Crunchr's mission is to empower HR to drive business conversations with impact and confidence. The goal is a fundamental transformation: from HR (Human Resources) into a strategic function of people, culture, and performance. Finance made this same transition twenty years ago. It used to be called Accounting. Today it sits at the executive table and shapes business strategy. HR is next. Crunchr is built to make that happen.
Workforce analytics is entering a new era
Workforce analytics is accelerating fast. Two forces are driving this. First, technology and AI are fundamentally changing the future of work, which raises complex questions, and companies are realising they are sitting on an untapped gold mine in their workforce data. Second, organisations are connecting that data to financials and business performance for the first time and discovering the strategic value that unlocks.
Some organisations attempt to bridge this gap with tools like Power BI or Tableau. But those platforms only work when the underlying data is already clean, harmonised, and reliable. When the data foundation is flawed, dashboards simply scale the problem, they don't solve it.
Workforce-related decisions increasingly sit at the centre of business strategy. Planning, reskilling, retention, organisational design, and workforce economics are now becoming board-level priorities. At the same time, AI is making insights faster and more powerful than ever, raising expectations across the organisation. Demand is rising sharply. But HR's data infrastructure has not kept pace.

Turning Workforce Data into Business Intelligence
Crunchr addresses precisely this structural gap. The platform transforms fragmented HR data across the organisation into a single, trusted intelligence layer, enabling HR leaders to engage in data-driven business conversations with confidence and clarity.
What stood out to us was Crunchr's highly pragmatic approach. In a market often characterised by heavy implementations and technical complexity, the company has built a productised, out-of-the-box platform focused on speed, usability, and immediate value creation.
Rather than requiring organisations to build internal analytics infrastructure or embark on large-scale transformation programs, Crunchr enables HR teams to move quickly from scattered data to decision-making impact. It establishes a reliable data foundation first, ensuring consistency, governance, and quality, and from there unlocks deeper analytics and AI-driven insights.
The platform also reflects where analytics is heading. Users can now query their workforce using natural language: a CHRO can ask "What is our attrition rate in APAC compared to last year?" and receive an answer in seconds. No analyst required and answers in the meeting.
Workforce Analytics in World of AI
AI is becoming the intelligence backbone of modern HR, and Crunchr embeds advanced AI directly into its people analytics platform to move organisations beyond static reporting. By detecting patterns across fragmented workforce data, forecasting attrition and skill gaps, and modelling the impact of talent decisions on business performance, Crunchr enables proactive, data-driven workforce strategy. Automation reduces manual analysis, while intelligent algorithms translate complexity into clear, actionable insights - aligning people strategy with financial outcomes, organisational resilience, and long-term growth.
Enabling Analytical Parity
What makes Crunchr distinctive is not just the analytics engine, it is how insights reach the people who need them. The platform has found a uniquely effective way to bring workforce intelligence directly to HR Business Partners and business leaders. Using modern techniques, it shows what is happening, why it is happening, what can be done about it, and what the likely outcome will be.
Crunchr is also the only European end-to-end workforce insights solution, with industry-leading security, compliance, and authorisation controls built in from the ground up.
For us, the conviction was clear. As workforce strategy becomes inseparable from business strategy, organisations need a robust, scalable intelligence layer for people data. HR deserves the same data-driven evolution every other function has already undergone. Crunchr is making that transformation a reality.
Backing Dirk and the Team
Behind Crunchr is a deeply specialised team led by founder and CEO Dirk Jonker ("DataDirk"). Dirk experienced firsthand the frustration of fragmented and unreliable HR data during his time as an actuary, and built Crunchr from that lived insight.

We are drawn to founders who understand a problem at its core. Crunchr reflects that DNA. Combined with the team's strong expertise in data, product, and Workforce analytics, this creates a differentiated and defensible foundation.
In addition, the team are genuinely passionate about the mission and sit at the epicentre of the global HR and analytics community, as they are advising, contributing, and shaping where the field is heading.
Looking ahead
The investment will accelerate expansion in Crunchr's core markets, deepen strategic partnerships, and continue to fund the development of a next-generation agentic architecture. And we are excited to partner with Crunchr as the company scales and continues to define this rapidly emerging category.
